mmm, so ^^

your best groove yet!

WoW.... I know some of your talent ma' boi, but this blew me away. Serious dude! All in Fruity loops!? This is massive!!!

Your Drumwork is always solid, syncopated, layered, and stylish. The synths couldn't be more appropriate to the idea behind any known "Stalker"... Illusive and unimaginable, this rocked my mental socks off. The bending sirens behind the bass was perfect. I somewhat agree with oddler, something is slightly missing, and I identify this within much of your work (sorry lol?). What is the BPM? THIS IS STYLE & CREATIVITY! ... Neural is doing something new with Drum & Bass, approaching it with fresh eyes, leaving his mouth open for more.

Personally, you newgrounds fggts need to listen up and take a pinch at ma' boi. This is grand, the work behind it is intense and lucritavly deep. Hear big UPS from Australia within the next years. This guy is going big.

Killer groove

Riding this soo high man. What kind of filter do you work with, structurally?

Soothsage responds:

Outboard equipment, samplers, Drum machines, syths. The Filter was on the Sampler, an effect built into it you could to assign to your track. I think it was a Yamaha sp700. Not sure, I used to own it a while ago. It was kinda like poor man's mpc2000, very underrated piece of equipment really.

btw, great house track, Diagram

Kaburorne responds:

Sorry, what? I don't understand what you're trying to say, and if you like Diagram, tell me on it's own page!
And why did you rate 0? :(

This is not DnB

Sorry, this is just generic techno at a higher Bpm. Your drums and such don't syncopate at all, there is no roll, the synths are too melodic, and the bassline is trancey, like almost all other aspects. Although you have a slight idea as to what actually might sound good within a DnB piece, this just does not work for me at all.... Keep up the good work, and don't be afraid to experiment.
Listen to a some non-stop DnB @ http://www.bassdrive.com
For some general information. Some Artists you could check out if interested are under here... http://www.last.fm/tag/drum%20and%20b ass (I dont recommend pendulum, many attribute them to the downfall of DnB)

Moltov responds:

Well it is my first attempt at anything other then trance soo w/e im getting good reviews and i think i did a good job.. it may just be me but i like trance alot and i also like DnB some... so like i guess i kinda mixed them and it sounded good to me.
well w/e ty for review,

Sweet stuff BRRREEAAAAAKKK

Love how you worked off only 4 or so elements, modified them into organized sections with a fluent melody. At first I was like "meh.." Then it totally won me over come 30 seconds +

This is the amen break sliced to the max right? What did you use to do the slicing/sampling?

td6d responds:

First off, thanks for the feedback dude :D
Its indeed the amen break sliced up untill nothing was left.
I used Renoise 1.9 tot slice it up and add the desired effects and tempo's .

The best to you mate.

great liquid

Still have a long way to go on a number of aspekts, but its amazng man! Love the intro!
Where did you get those lyrical samples from, or are they original?

Ever heard of Mutt? He has some EP's on Spearhead/metalheadz. Here is his myspace, it's amazing tuneage.

Gusto responds:

thanks mate, can't remember where I got the samples but theyre not orignal. I agree mutt is amazing :]

Greenly Gobbish

Good stuff, didn't know garage band could push this type of quality.

liked the bass, could possibly have more variation, actually naw, its fine lol.
Ever used Reason/FL/Logic?

crackheadtrent responds:

nice one mate cheers! errrr, i hijacked one of the computers the guys on the music course use and had a blast on Reason once, but i found it a bit complicated. I mean, those guys have classes in it and stuff. I dunno, i think maybe i'll get it one day. Either that or FL. I'm gonna see how far i can push Garageband atm though i think.

FYI: I got the bass sounds by layering 4 different bass tracks, using distortion, adjusting the envelopes, attack, decay and cutoff on the tracks and hit up some dodgy vocal transformer for a different sounding pitch change. It took LONG but still i'm pretty happy with the results.

Slick Wobble FX

How do you create your wobble? The only effective way I have found is oscillating Ts404's on FL stuido @_____@

Great rendition, I think the arpeggio synths @ 2:35 are too low-frequency, possibly try a more siren like sound. Wobble could variate a tad bit more, stretch the oscillation.... STREETCH! Other than that Smash SMASH the ups. Check my preview on my latest dub-shindig. I am practicing on it currently, so dont expect any release soon.

5/5

Jimbobsthebest responds:

I did this all in reason. I've never been a fan of fruity loops myself, although i'm always surprised what people can make with it. I made the wobble bass with the maelstrom in reason. Simply changed the rate of the oscillators to get that wobble sound.

I'm not sure what you mean by the synths being too low frequency as I wanted to go for that low bassy feel. Although I totally agree that the wobble could vary more, it does get a little repetitive. I really think that some lyrics over this would make it much more interesting, but i'm trying to find a lyricist that wants to work on it.

Thanks again for the review, and i'll try and keep updated with your new tunes.

Cheers, James
